Maybe a better title would be “why not pray?” As a believer we are called into to a relationship with our Lord and Savior. There is power in prayer when we take time daily or even minute by minute to spend time in prayer. It’s plugging into the Power Source that guides us in the way we should go.
“Pray without ceasing” 1 Thessalonians 5:17
Have you ever felt powerless or stuck with nowhere to turn? As a believer, we are never powerless, our Lord is near when we take time to spend time with Him. How could we not spend time with the One who created us, knows us better than anyone and loves us with a deep abiding love, the One who laid His life down for us.
Have you noticed the more we pray the less we worry? The Bible instructs us to be anxious for nothing but is that possible? It is absolutely possible, the Lord provides peace that truly passes all human understanding. No matter what we face in this life the Lord is with us. He is our provider and protector.
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
Another aspect of prayer is interceding on the behalf of others. It is essential that we pray and intercede for the IBC churches. They are all over the world on the front lines of ministry. Through prayer we are lifting the needs of the pastors, staff and congregations. If you would like to be a part of the IBCM prayer team please contact Sandy Chadwick at sandrachadwick@myyahoo.com.
“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” Ephesians 6:18
