My name is Angela King, and I am honored to serve as a new board member of the International Baptist Church Ministries (IBCM) as of this past February. My husband and I live in Ruston, Louisiana, where I teach special education, and he serves as the Minister of Missions at Temple Baptist Church. Although we now call Louisiana home, both of us are third-culture kids who spent much of our childhood in Germany. My father pastored an International Baptist Church, and my husband’s father served in the U.S. Air Force.
Growing up, IBC churches in Europe became a spiritual home for both of us. Some of my most treasured memories are from gatherings like EuroVenture, where third-culture teens from all over Europe came together to worship and grow in their faith. I will never forget singing “Mountains bow down and the seas will roar at the sound of Your name” while looking out at the Swiss Alps. Experiences like these profoundly shaped my relationship with Christ and gave me a deep appreciation for the global Church.
When I was invited to serve on the IBCM board, I felt both humbled and excited. IBCM is a non-profit organization that partners with English-speaking international churches and ministries to help take the Gospel to the ends of the earth. Through the generosity of believers here in the U.S., IBCM provides grants to support 54 churches across five continents — including the very church where I grew up.
As a board member, I have the privilege and responsibility of helping manage these financial resources. I get to hear the joys, challenges, and plans from churches around the world and play a small role in ensuring they have what they need to thrive. Whether it’s funding youth camps like EuroVenture or helping a local church plant take root in a new country, every dollar given helps advance the Kingdom and impact lives for eternity.
If you feel led to join us in this mission, your partnership would be a tremendous blessing. Together, we can encourage churches across the globe and help bring the Good News to those who need it most.
Thank you for your prayers, support, and generosity as we work together to reach the nations for Christ.
