IBCM Values: Great Commission Partnerships

Back to Updates

Now, the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. And when they saw him they worshipped him, but some doubted. And Jesus told them, “All authority in heaven and on Earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:16-20)

The third article in the Core Values series is our core value of Great Commission Partnerships. This value emphasizes the IBCM’s unwavering commitment to prioritizing and strengthening our Great Commission Partnerships globally. This is not just a value but a fundamental aspect of our mission, reflecting our sincere desire to collaborate with others “to proclaim the message” and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Christ’s words are not just a suggestion but a command for all Christians. Our belief in the importance of Great Commission Partnerships is rooted in our core values and faith. We are committed to this mission, and it is this commitment that inspires us to continue our work.

– We firmly believe in the unity of the church as the living body of Christ, with each member playing a crucial and integral role in fulfilling God’s mission (Romans 12:4).

– We believe in our calling to work alongside God, reaching out, preparing, and sending workers into the harvest fields to advance the Kingdom of God (Matthew 28:16-20; Romans 10:14-15).

Through our Great Commission Partnerships, we seek to spread the Gospel message across the harvest fields and allow God’s Spirit to move within international communities globally. Just as Jesus said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore, ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest field’ (Matthew 9:37-38). The urgency and significance of the Gospel message should always be at the forefront of our mission, reminding us of the crucial role each of us plays in this divine mission. It’s a weighty responsibility, but one that we carry with the knowledge that we are part of something truly significant.

International English-speaking churches play a pivotal and deeply valued role in the lives of many individuals by providing a supportive community for people from diverse backgrounds. These churches foster a profound sense of belonging and acceptance, offering a secure space for worship and spiritual guidance free from the fear of persecution. This environment of acceptance and understanding enables individuals to confidently share the message of the Gospel with their loved ones and makes them feel included and valued in the global mission.

We hold Great Commission Partnerships in high esteem because they embody our unwavering commitment and inspire us to work alongside others in the mission field. We aim to spread the unchanging and eternal message of Salvation and Christ’s Unconditional Love in a world constantly evolving and in great need of the Gospel. This commitment is a testimony to our dedication and inspires us to make a significant global impact for Christ.
